Hello there! My name is William “Bill” Foster, and I am a seasoned expert in the tobacco industry. I’ve been professionally involved in this field for over three decades now, and there’s nothing more fascinating to me than exploring the rich, complex world of tobacco.
I’ve had the privilege of working with several renowned companies in the industry. I spent the initial years of my career with British American Tobacco, where I focused on product quality control and compliance. This experience was followed by an exciting stint with Japan Tobacco International where I worked in a senior role, leading their strategic expansion initiatives. Currently, I’m working as a consultant, assisting both large corporations and promising start-ups in navigating the ever-changing tobacco landscape.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to receive several awards for my contributions to the industry. I was awarded the prestigious ‘Golden Leaf Award’ by Tobacco Reporter in 2020, and ‘Tobacco Industry Leader of the Year’ by the Global Tobacco & Nicotine Forum in 2022. It’s heartening to be recognized by your peers and it only motivates me to push the envelope further.
Although I was born in the UK, I have since made the United States my home, specifically in the beautiful city of Asheville, North Carolina. When I’m not deep in my work, you’d probably find me at the local jazz bar, playing the saxophone or hiking the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains. I’m also an avid reader and maintain a personal collection of over a thousand books, mostly historical fiction and biographies.
